Dr. Jarice Butterfield is the former Santa Barbara County Executive SELPA Director where she oversaw the special education services for 23 school districts/local education agencies, she is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, author of a Traumatic Brain Injury Added-Authorization through California's Teacher Credentialing (CTC), and is the author of many articles and a book published on Meeting the Needs of Students with TBI in Education (available on Amazon or at: https://www.abebooks.com/book-search/title/traumatic-brain-injury-post/author/butterfield-jarice/). She currently is semi-retired and provides educational consulting and services related to traumatic brain injury and dyslexia around the State of California.
This one hour Part I presentation with questions and answers will provide an overview of an introduction to brain injury in children (both acquired and traumatic), the etiology, different levels/types of brain injury, how it may affect learning, as well as how to plan for a re-integration to school.
